Taser tape will be made public Tuesday

The video of a man being shot by RCMP with a Taser at Vancouver International Airport, and then dying, will be made public on Tuesday, a friend of the victim's mother said in an interview Sunday. Jurek Baltakis said Zofia Cisowski will be in Vancouver to speak with media when the video is released. Cisowski's son, Robert Dziekanski, 40, died at the airport Oct. 14, about 10 hours after he arrived in Canada from Poland.

Baltakis said Cisowski was resting on Sunday to prepare for the difficult week ahead, but he could not comment on whether she had seen the video yet. Paul Pritchard of Victoria caught the incident on video and gave it to police, then had to fight to get it back. He could not be reached for comment Sunday. A memorial for Dziekanski will be held next Saturday in Kamloops and will include speeches from family members as well as people concerned about the use of Tasers.
