Vancouver -- The RCMP plans to be involved in a public inquiry into the death of Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski at Vancouver International Airport, but is waiting for the Crown to decide whether criminal charges will be laid.
"The RCMP intends to fully co-operate with the Braidwood inquiry," Acting Staff Sergeant Tim Shields said of a public inquiry headed by retired judge Thomas Braidwood.
"But ... until we receive a charge approval decision, from Crown counsel, we cannot provide the complete [investigatory] report ... to the inquiry," he said.
