Calgary police will not change taser use

City police won't be following the lead of the RCMP. The national police force has restricted the use of tasers to such instances where police or the public are under threat and not solely when suspects are being resistant. The Calgary Sun reports, city police say the devices are lifesavers and will not alter their approach to them.
The testing of the tasers here in Alberta is still a go. The province decided to test the machines after a CBC report found they were producing a much more powerful charge than they were designed to.

Attention Calgary City Council - how's that decision going to look in court after your know-it-all (ie. brainwashed by Taser) police kill someone with the assistance of a taser? Someone that was presenting zero credible threat.
Think about it.
The RCMP are moving in the correct direction.
Also, in case you need some philosophical guidance, please explain why the police wouldn't just use the glowing end of a lit cigarette for pain compliance, instead of the taser in 'Touch Torture' mode? Both hurt like hell and both leave small burns. So what's the difference? Please explain. Well?
