Ontario (Canada) man tasered by OPP dies
One man is dead after being tasered by police in Collingwood late Thursday afteroon. OPP in Collingwood were called to a group home on Saint Marie Street, where the man had allegedly assaulted an elderly female resident.
Upon their arrival, OPP members say the man became combative with the officers, assaulting one of them. Officers deployed a conductive energy weapon -- known as a taser -- to subdue the man. OPP administered first aid on the male and he was transported to Collingwood General and Marine Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An officer was also transported to hospital with minor injuries. The province's Special Investigations Unit has been called in to investigate

How sad is this...a TASER on a man living in a group home and with no apparent weapons. Now he is dead. Taser's have replaced the officer's gun. Same result but no holes. How sad is this story yet again about armed police using a taser on an unharmed person.
Forgive me, but you fail to mention that FOUR (4) Ontario Provincial Police officers were involved at the Collingwood Ontario group home when Aron Firman, a 27-year-old resident when "Officers used a conductive energy weapon, a Taser, to subdue" him!
FOUR COPS! Ontario Provincial Police sent FOUR cops to subdue one 27-year-old?

Indeed yes, I agree this is very, very sad.
My own 37-year-old son died suddenly of "natural cause" in a Kingston Ontario group home on June 13, 2002. Living with chronic epilepsy, he had been given an "extra dose" of HALDOL because he was "agitated" before being left alone in a hot bathtub while his caregiver went on a 15-minute smoke break.

FOUR (4) police officers?
Ontario Provincial Police despatched FOUR Police Officers to subdue ONE (1) 27-year-old man?
In a GROUP HOME?
With a TASER?
SIU: "Upon their arrival, OPP members say the man became combative with the officers and assaulted one of them.
Officers used a conductive energy weapon, a Taser, to subdue the man.
According to a news release from the SIU, the man became unresponsive after being hit with the Taser."

Indeed yes, this is truly a sad story.
My own 37-year-old son died suddenly of "NATURAL CAUSE" on June 13, 2002 in a Kingston Ontario group home after "an extra dose" of HALDOL.
Living with chronic epilepsy, intellectually challenged with a 12-year-old peer level, he'd been given "an extra dose" of HALDOL that day before being left alone in a hot bathtub, while his caregiver went on a smoke break. 15 minutes later, she returned to find him VSA (vital signs absent). An autopsy confirmed all of my son's organs to be viable and his lungs clear of fluid.
My son was cremated on Fathers Day.
