UPDATE: April 22, 2008 - A pathologist hired by the family of Jason Jesus Gomez, 35, of Anaheim, has tentatively concluded that he was killed by blunt force trauma to the head, and not by the electrical charge from a stun gun, said the family's attorney, Stephen Bernard. "The bottom line is he was beaten to death," said Bernard.

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- The Orange County District Attorney's Office is investigating a struggle between sheriff's deputies and an inmate who is now on life-support and not expected to live a normal life, even if he recovers.
Construction worker Jason Jesus Gomez, 35, of Anaheim, went into a coma after being restrained and stunned with a Taser in a scuffle with deputies at the Orange County jail's Intake-Release Center March 25.
If he survives, he will probably remain in a permanent vegetative state, sources told the Los Angeles Times.
